Object no 1

Artist :- maria ten kortenaar
Art work:- METROPOLIS
Material :- Porcelain

This art work lies in the category of minimalism. The shape and form of the objects are very cylindrical. following the principles of design they are in great harmony and have repetition. The object design pattern is very linear and simpler. The colors used in it are very pleasing and giving an equilibrium and definition to the forms. Looking at the shape and form I think The process and technique used to make this piece of art is throwing.

Artist statement :-

"For me, porcelain is a medium that allows me to express what I perceive, feel and experience in everyday life. Through porcelain, I’m able to translate the impressions that stick to me, into my artworks. Happiness, sunsets, rainy days, landscapes that I observe in real life, all find their way to my artworks. The titles are links to my personal memories.

Sweeing machine

There is much reminiscent of archaeology, geology and architecture in this work. A very depiction of a wo totally diff materials cloth and clay . The layering technique used to built the machine is inspiration from architecture. The sculptures contrast technology and manufacturing techniques with the fallibility of the material and the handmade. Various techniques are used in it in including moulding casting, layering assembling etc.
